Greetings from South Beach! I hope everyone’s had a wonderful holiday season so far – I’m getting excited for New Years Eve!
I’ve been dying to try out the WordPress app, so here’s a little photojournal of the last few weeks:

A little glitter got the holidays started

The boyfriend and I exchanged gifts – what girl doesn’t love that little blue box?

We took off to Miami on boxing day

South Beach is full of sartorial pups

I got to bust out the summer favourites

I found the perfect shoes for New Years Eve…

We’re heading home …

Facebook Timeline - Restricted User

So…you have Facebook Timeline. Now what?

The first thing you should do is adjust your privacy settings. In typical Facebook fashion, these have been made as difficult to use as possible.
Don’t worry – after some trial & error I’ve discovered 3 easy ways to control your Facebook privacy.
How to adjust your Facebook Timeline privacy settings
1. Take control of your photos
In Timeline, your previous privacy settings for photos are thrown out the window. Yes, that means that if you previously had your tagged photos invisible they’ll automatically become visible when you make …

KORRES goodies

If there’s one thing every girl wants for the holidays, it’s radiant skin. Photos are inevitable during party season and it’s only human to want to look your best (and to win free goodies – more on that later!).
Enter KORRES.

The KORRES story begins in Greece and ends with the perfect homeopathic products for all skin types. The products are vegetarian-friendly and sometimes even vegan-friendly – great for those who are especially conscious about what goes into their bodies and onto their skin. I’ve told you how much I love the …

What do you get the girl who has everything? My favourite rule is to get that hard-to-shop-for lady on your list something that will make her sparkle & shine. Every girl loves to feel special and these goodies will surely do the trick! Bonus: These will be easy to find, even if you’ve waited until the last minute to shop (like me!).

Benefit Cosmetics Glam Bags

It’s no secret that I love a great deal…and that I am absolutely in love with Benefit Cosmetics.
Since we should all spread the love during the holidays, I have a glam little secret to share to thank you for being such fabulous and loyal readers.

Have you seen these billboards around Toronto? They’re part of Benefit Cosmetic’s #glamgiveaways!  A few times this week, these bags will be replenished by the Benefit Cosmetics team and, if you spot them before anyone else, you’ll get to snag a goody bag full of Benefit …

One of the many posts taken over by angry PayPal users

If you’ve never seen a social media showdown, head over to www.facebook.com/paypal.
In the wee hours of Tuesday morning, PayPal’s Facebook page was taken over by droves of angry Regretsy users. Best known for showcasing Etsy DIY gone wrong, the Regretsy community had been focusing on a Secret Santa drive when PayPal refused to accept it as a charitable measure.
I won’t get into the nitty gritty here – it’s hard to tell right from wrong at this point – but you can see more on the story here, here  and here.

sink or swim

It doesn’t matter if you’ve been dating for a month or a year – the holidays can be the proverbial relationship shark tank (Kudos to Kelsey Perry-Carlsen for the term!).
At this time of year, you and your significant other will go from party to party, meeting family and friends in a few short weeks. Tensions can run high during the holidays and forced interactions with your nearest and dearest can put a strain on even the toughest couple.
So…how do you navigate this social minefield?

Step 4: they're really really sorry

It’s been a year, but o.b. tampons is reaching out to thousands of women who were left high & dry when their favourite tampons were abruptly pulled from the shelves. Yes, it’s true – this time last year, there was a tampon-induced uproar in Canada.
In September 2010, o.b. tampons began going missing from the shelves. At first, it was only extra-absorbent o.b. Ultra, but soon women were turning to hoarding as all varieties of o.b. tampons began to disappear. In a show of true brand loyalty, the women who rely …

There’s been a lot of talk lately about how HIV/AIDS is no longer an issue. Even Obama said this is the “beginning of the end” for the virus. However, in light of the Global Fund removing funding for HIV/AIDS, the number of deaths in the countries most affected by the virus is expected to surge.
Today is World AIDS Day – a day to remember the more than 25 million lives lost to the virus since 1981, a day to learn how to protect yourself, a day to make the lives …

RIP

Today, my BlackBerry and I broke up.
It was a long time coming, but I had a hard time giving up a device I’d been tethered to for nearly 5 years. Our breakup was met with shock and awe, along with wild disbelief at my courage at ending such a long-term relationship.
My iPhone 4s and I are really happy together so far, but let’s bid that BlackBerry a fond farewell by taking a look back at some better times.

Goodbye, old friend/foe. Hello, iPhone!
