It’s a good time to be a bride-to-be in Toronto

I have a feeling 2015 will be The Year of Weddings for me. Not only is our date set for June 6, 2015, but it seems like every week another lady I know is getting a shiny new bauble of her own. In the last week alone I’ve welcomed my longtime friend Dianna from Brixton Parlour and Sara Cernivivo, a longtime blog reader and my former fellow summer camper to the Brides of 2015 club. Something tells me our ranks will only continue to increase throughout the holiday season.

2015 brides really couldn’t be getting engaged at a better time – so much wedding loveliness is coming to Toronto!

Hudson’s Bay on Queen St. is set to become Toronto Bridal Headquarters with the addition of Kleinfeld and Maison Birks Bridal Boutique on May 1, 2014. Yes, this means that brides will get to have their very own Say Yes to the Dress experience in the Kleinfeld boutique then head on over to the Maison Birks Bridal Boutique to jack themselves up with Canadian diamonds. Am I dreaming?

Kleinfeld’s Toronto location at Hudson’s Bay will be a 25,000 sq ft, 800 gown-extravaganza with 16 fitting rooms at the ready for brides-to-be. I’m hoping that some of my Say Yes To The Dress favourites like Reem Acra, Romona Keveza and Lazaro make the trip north. I spy two dresses from the Reem Acra Spring 2014 collection that I’d just love to try on…

The new Maison Birks Bridal Boutique on the 7th floor of Hudson’s Bay will be at the heart of the bridal salon. The 20,000 sq. ft boutique will feature engagement rings, bridal jewelry and bands and the all-important statement pieces, highlighting traceable, conflict-free Canadian diamonds. Since I have an inability to talk about bridal jewelry without sharing some gorgeous bling, take a gander at this single halo Canadian diamond pave ring from Birks.

I’ll admit, when I first heard Kleinfeld was coming to Toronto I was a little sad that I would miss my window of opportunity to try on dresses there. With my June 2015 date, I couldn’t be more excited to add Hudson’s Bay to my list of must-hit bridal destinations as I hunt for the perfect dress and jewelry to make our big day even more special.

In case, like me, you can’t wait for the new Hudson’s Bay bridal salon to open, you can get a sneak peek during The Wedding Room, a brand new wedding event presented by Hudson’s Bay and The Wedding Co. on February 22 & 23, 2014 at Arcadian.

The event will feature some of the city’s top wedding professionals & vendors, including floral design, wedding planners, decorators and, of course, wedding dresses! While I’ve got my venue locked down, I haven’t even begun to touch the other details (other than in my secret Pinterest board) so I’m super excited to meet the vendors and see some samples of their work. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased online. See you there!

Speaking of vendors: do you have any favourites? Let me know in the comments!
