It’s Friday and you’ve made it through the week. Treat yourself with one of these pretty little things, guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. After all – there’s no better route to transformative beauty than a smile.
The sweetness of a macaron housed in a gorgeous metallic tin, zero calories. Need I say more? This 11 oz coconut wax candle smells as pretty as it looks and inspires instant relaxation. Burn this while you save up for your trip to Paris.
Sometimes a product is so intriguing that you run out to buy it after work because you can’t wait another second to try it. Perle is that product. Swatches on BeautyGeeks over Essie Resort 2014 Under The Twilight (a blackened purple creme) had me practically throwing my $26 at the Holt Renfrew Dior counter. I posted three Instagram pics of it, my nails and my nails again in succession and keep making my coworkers admire it. It turns any polish into a slightly-mattified, frosted delight of a manicure. Pure spring magic, I tell you!
I’m a sucker for cute packaging and Soap & Glory has that in spades – you can’t help but smile when you pull out this tin. Inside the tin is deliciously juicy peach balm that literally melts right into your lips. The first time I used it, I actually sent a photo to a girlfriend so she could see how gorgeous my lips looked. It’s not super-pigmented but gives a natural sheen that really is kissable. It also moisturizes so well you’ll forget you had to stick your finger in a tin to get the product out.
I love when products are just plain smart. While I’m usually not much of a powder girl (save for my beloved Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders), the super-dense moisturizers my skin craves during the winter can leave me a bit shinier than I’d like. A spin-off of the brand’s famous pore-hiding primer, Agent Zero Shine glides on with zero cakiness and mattifies without dulling skin. A really awesome bonus? It’s a zero-mess loose powder with a built in brush. Pop off the lid, unlock the powder chamber and sprinkle a little in the cap then pull a tiny brush out the other end. Swirl the little brush in the lid, dust on and snap the whole thing back together. Zero spillage. Zero waste. Happy Steph.
I’ve been raving about Lollitint since it arrived on my desk but, dare I say, I feel like I need to give it even more attention. It’s an easy way to dabble in this year’s Pantone colour of the year, Radiant Orchid without feeling like your face screams “I follow trends”. The super-sheer tint gives a flush that’s more blushing bride than purple passion and the milky formula makes it easy to apply. Dab a bit on a blush brush and blend onto skin to avoid stained fingers.
