For The Girls: Holiday Gift Guide

Iconic Barbies and sweet-smelling minis; shiny new purses and iconic brooches… these are a few of my favourite things! I can’t help but channel my own wants when pulling together a gift guide for the lady in your life but be forewarned – these are (for the most part) things I already have and love! Keep reading to find the best gifts for her this holiday season.

Sometimes your guy just hits it out of the park. Last year, it was this House of Jo Malone London townhouse deluxe sampler set that did me in. The perfect exploratory gift for both the Jo Malone loyalist or gal that’s new to the brand, this set contains a selection of Jo Malone’s most-loved scents in a variety of formats. Find it at Holt Renfrew.

If she goes gaga for the iconic HBC stripes, this limited-edition Hudson’s Bay Company Barbie is just the thing to surprise her with. Receiving a Barbie is a nostalgic experience, but feels exciting and grown up thanks to the HBC motif.

For the girl who loves luxury, this classic Chanel brooch will satisfy her need for that threaded-leather chain strap without the flap-bag price. I collect Chanel brooches and happen to have this one in black and can attest that it’s a goes-with-anything piece! The price point may also surprise you 🙂

Equal parts natural wellness and style, the Saje Aromagem 2.0 is a beautiful addition to any girly girl’s space. Pair this beautiful golden diffuser with some essential oils – Liquid Sunshine is a good place to start! – for the perfect gift. Bonus: this updated version of the Aromagem has a larger water tank and is plastic, which means your mischievous kitten won’t shatter it.

If she can’t help but put a bow on it, this Banana Republic Bow Metallic Clutch is the perfect addition to her party wardrobe. Funtional, versatile and oh-so-pretty, this clutch is easy to carry thanks to the flap closure that lets her slip her hand inside.

Whether she loves baking or just loves to look at beautifully styled photos of baked goods and gorgeous spaces, Bobbette & Belle: Classic Recipes from the Celebrated Pastry Shop is a must-have. The shop is one of my favourite spaces in the city, so being able to whip up their treats at home is, well, a treat!

Fresh flowers are the ultimate luxury: something you’d love to buy for yourself but always put off. A monthly flower delivery of a seasonal arrangement from The Weekend Florist ensures her home is always filled with gorgeous local blooms. Toronto-based florist Andrea Russell offers 3, 6 or 12 month subscriptions for her garden-style arrangements starting at $60 each. Dear husband – hint, hint! Order yours at andrea@theweekendflorist.com

Upgrade her desk life with this shiny, venti-sized Scales Cold Cup from Starbucks. This be-scaled plastic cup will encourage her to drink more water in a chic way and is the cutest way to tote her morning smoothies to work.
