5 ways to celebrate love this week

I plan to win you over, whether you’re in the all-things-pink-and-sparkly camp or whether you’d rather avoid the over-commercialized, Hallmark holiday all together. While we shouldn’t need a reminder to love love, it’s certainly nice to have one. Here are 5 ways to celebrate all types of love this week.

Wear your heart on your…accent nail

Valentines Day Nail Art - tiny heart accent nail

This may win for ‘easiest nail art ever’ (OK, maybe second to these whimsical polka dot nails from last spring). Paint your nails in your favourite shade then using a dotting tool to place three tiny gold dots on your nail. Drag the tool to connect the dots into a heart shape. Pat yourself on the back.

Get sweet on your coworkers

Valentines Day Meringues

We’re big on treats around here, so it’s a no-brainer that Valentine’s Day will involve a ton of homemade goodies. I’ve got a few more tricks up my sleeve, but if you’re looking for the easiest and most adorable treat, whip up some meringues. I was inspired by this post on cupcake & cashmere to make these tiny clouds of deliciousness and was amazed how quickly they came together. If you love your coworkers a lot, dip them in melted chocolate and roll them in sprinkles.

Start each day with love

Valentines Day - Do what you love Indigo Mug

Sometimes we need a little reminder to keep at it. When I spotted this adorable do what you love mug at Indigo, I knew I had to bring it home with me. Loving what you do is incredibly important to your happiness. If you don’t love your job, your extra-curricular activities, your major, discover what you do love and devise a plan to get there. Stay grounded and on-task with a daily reminder, whether it’s a mug like this or a Post-it note on your computer monitor.

Valentines Day - Mean Girls Valentines Day Cards

Single or attached, this is a great week to show those you love that they mean the world to you. Whether you share these Mean Girls Valentines (or hey, the amazing Rob Ford Valentines I wish I’d gotten my hands on) with your friends or book a brunch with your girls, spend some time with the special people in your life. Bonus points if your way of showing love includes Nutella-stuffed French Toast casserole (thanks, Kat!)
