Canadian Beauty Bloggers’ Best Beauty Products of 2012

2012 was the year of the beauty blogger for me. Of all the bloggers and social media personalities I’ve met, worked with and befriended, I find the Canadian beauty blogging community to be one of the best. They’re supportive, friendly and, best of all, honest. With that said, I reached out to a few of my favourite Canadian beauty bloggers to get their picks for the best beauty products of 2012. If you don’t already have these in your beauty arsenal, there’s no better time than the present. Start 2013 off with a bang with the best of 2012 in your makeup bag and on your RSS feed.

Meredith Karcher of Et Tu and You loves

This is my product of the year for several reasons.  It’s “not too soft” or “not too stiff”, “it’s just right” bristles make applying foundation a breeze.  My skin appears flawless and although I wish I could attribute that entirely to awesome skin, believe it or not, I’ve got flaws.  And this brush helps ‘disguise’ them.  It feels and performs like more ‘expensive’ luxury brands….I now own more than one.  At it’s current retail, I couldn’t resist another.  It’s my GO-TO brush for perfect skin-especially if I’m headed out.

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl

2012 has been the year of skin for me. Finding the perfect skincare routine (thank you, Clarisonic, Benefit, Fresh & KORRES!) was top priority, along with getting my glow on every day. I’ve become supremely attached to Benefit’s Girl Meets Pearl liquid luminizer – it gives a subtle, candlelit glow and can be worn under blush for the ultimate glowy look. It blends seamlessly and imparts a pearlescent – but not glittery – golden pink glow. I wear it every single day – nothing perks up my skin quite like Girl Meets Pearl.

Jessica Desjardins of BEAUTEZINE loves…

Bobbi Brown 24 Karat Shimmer Brick
One of my favorite products this year has been a fairly new launch, but it’s limited edition and still available so I’m trying to spread the word about it! The Bobbi Brown 24 Karat Shimmer Brick is a beautiful complexion highlighter- each gold, bronze and pink strip can be used individually as eyeshadows, or you can blend them all together for a gorgeous rose gold highlighter.  It really looks so beautiful on the skin, and it has become my go-to highlighter for everyday!

Giorgio Armani Rouge D’armani Sheer Lipstick in 401

My favourite product of 2012 is my Giorgio Armani lipstick in 401 (red) this shade has gotten me through the spring, summer and winter and has become my signature red. The orange tones are just perfect enough to wear through any season because I feel as though it flatters my tanned or pale skin. The best part of all is how long lasting it is! The creamy texture glides and hydrates my lips like no other full coverage lip product I’ve ever tried. Every time I wear it I’m complimented on the shade and it really makes me look more alive.

Weleda Almond Soothing Facial Oil

I love this product and use it daily! It’s great for makeup removal or as the first step to face washing. Great to add to your moisturizer for an extra boost of hydration and great as a spot treatment, too, to calm inflamed skin.  It feels amazing when massaged into my skin.
