Everyone knows that having a good lipstick, mascara and concealer in your arsenal is a necessity. What often flies under the radar are those products you didn’t even know you needed that will ultimately change your life. These three products will quickly become your favourites and a part of your everyday routine.
Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo, ~$11-$19, Sephora
Dry shampoo has been all the rage for the past few years, but many formulas can leave your hair stinky and gritty and often fail to provide the volume you crave. This …

If there’s one thing every girl wants for the holidays, it’s radiant skin. Photos are inevitable during party season and it’s only human to want to look your best (and to win free goodies – more on that later!).
Enter KORRES.
The KORRES story begins in Greece and ends with the perfect homeopathic products for all skin types. The products are vegetarian-friendly and sometimes even vegan-friendly – great for those who are especially conscious about what goes into their bodies and onto their skin. I’ve told you how much I love the …

Sometimes, a little glitz & glam is all a girl needs.
Two of the most iconic silver screen starlets are making their mark in Toronto, with the Grace Kelly: from Movie Star to Princess exhibition currently at the TIFF Bell Lightbox and My Week with Marilyn starting advanced screenings this week (read to the end for your chance to win a pair of tickets!).
I had the chance to check out the Grace Kelly exhibit this past weekend with a few ladies from HumberPR. After the most delicious brunch at OB Canteen (did …

As the weather gets colder, it’s inevitable that your skin will get increasingly scaly and rough. Along with swapping your facial moisturizer for something more emollient and switching your summer shimmer for shea butter, you should also think about your feet. With cozy tights and patterned socks likely keeping your toes covered all winter long, it’s easy to forget that your feet need extra TLC in the winter months – especially after party-hopping in your highest heels!
My favourite way to treat myself (and keep my boyfriend from recoiling at the …

On Thursday night, fellow PR girl Stella Lee and I headed to the Thompson Hotel for the launch of Apothic Red, a new wine from California. What awaited us was a beautiful lounge bathed in a red glow, the gorgeous ladies & gents of Toronto and tastes that tingled on our tastebuds.
Now, if there’s one thing PR girls love (aside from Twitter and sky-high heels), it’s a good, smooth beverage. As we soon learned at the ‘sniff test’ table, Apothic Red reveals the aromas and flavours of rhubarb, black cherry, mocha, chocolate, …

Have you ever wondered how to completely and utterly grasp the attention of beauty bloggers? The answer, apparently, is pretty simple! All you have to do is lure them to an event that promises sexy men, sexy music, sexy fragrance and sexy skin. Bam! Captive audience. Last week, I was lucky enough to attend Avon Girls’ Night at the Air Canada Centre, conveniently during the Mumford and Sons concert.
I knew I was in for a real treat when tickets arrived, hand-delivered, to the Marketing Magazine conference I was at for work.
After a few quick …

With TIFF on the horizon, there’s no better way to prep than to get pampered like celebrity right in the heart of the action – Yorkville. I was more than a little bit excited when Valerie from Lucreative Media asked me & Christine Estima to come along on a girls’ spa night. Although I’d often passed by Vikaspa (it’s right across the street from Hazelton Lanes at 88 Avenue Rd.), I’d never ventured inside. After a little shopping (Val) and enabling (me), we headed to Vikaspa to meet up with …

We all have that person. The one that got away, the one you thought you’d always be with, the first one to make an impact. It could have been a summer fling, a broken engagement or that time you were the other woman. Either way, somehow that person never goes away – even when you have someone new.
Meet Emma and Dexter. An unlikely pair, they spend a night of almost-passion together after graduation in 1988. In 2007, their lives are still entwined. Telling the story of their relationship on July …

A few weeks ago, I attended the book launch for Lindsey Kelk’s new book, The Single Girl’s To-Do List. The Harper Collins Canada team held the event at swanky Yorkville venue MoRoCo Chocolat, where we were plied with bubbly, chocolate & tasty treats for a couple hours while mix & mingling with Toronto’s hottest babes. Why is this post so late? Well, you see…my not-so-trusty BlackBerry died after only a couple hours on the job that day and I forgot my camera. Thus, I had to wait for everyone else’s …

I’m a sucker for tiny, pretty things. That’s probably explains a) why I have a tiny puppy b) my insatiable appetite for beauty samples. There’s something about miniature beauty treats that makes me fall in love (maybe it’s the promise of falling in love & adding more full-sized goodies to my collection!).
Yesterday, my long-awaited Glymm Box arrived. They even managed to get a hint of pink to adorn the protective packaging!
Inside was the cutest, shiniest pink box I’ve ever seen.
Under layers of ribbon and tissue paper lay perfect high-end samples, …
