Cath Kidston hops the pond to Toronto

Brit brand Cath Kidston, known for fun florals, whimsy and vintage motifs, has arrived in Toronto! The British-born favourite has popped up in three locations in Toronto: Fairview Mall, Eaton Centre and Square One. If you love a good modern vintage vibe, it’s time to meet Cath. You’ll love her, promise.

I was first introduced to the brand by my friend Steph. We share the same aesthetic and she had the inside track on Cath Kidston, having lived in the UK for a few years. One gorgeous gifted makeup bag in one of Cath Kidston’s signature florals and I was hooked (thanks, Steph!). Suffice to say she got an overly excitable text when I learned three Cath Kidston locations would be opening in Toronto and we planned an urgent date.

Cath Kidston Toronto

Luckily for us, one of the locations is at Fairview Mall – right by Steph’s. We weren’t disappointed: the shop features items in some of Cath Kidston’s key collections – Chiswick Rose, Dog Portrait, London View, Gardener’s Club – and a wide variety of items. We perused everything from totes, wallets, phone cases and baby clothing to home decor like egg cups, tea towels, kitchen canisters and plates. Every item was covetable: we ultimately did two passes through the store to decide on what we wanted to purchase.

The lovely store staff promised that new stock would be coming in throughout their stay, with the first round arriving after their first month.

I couldn’t leave without buying something – well, three things – and ended up with a phone case and reusable tote in the London View print and a hand cream (made in the UK!) with a rose print. I’m so happy with my purchases and have received endless compliments on the London View print phone case. Prices range widely, from $20 or so for the phone case to $75 for the baby outfit I had my eye on.

Cath Kidston’s Toronto locations will be open at least until the end of December. The brand is a bit coy about how long they’ll be in Toronto, but I have a feeling they’re here to stay (at least, I hope so!).
