Happy 2016! Things have been a-changing on my end over the last few weeks so a little blog hiatus has been extra-good for the soul. More on these changes another day, but for now… let’s talk about making some positive changes to your skincare to start off the new year.
Finding the best skincare is a huge trial-and-error session. Even when you find something that works, the environment, your stress levels and other hormones can sometimes throw your skin out of whack anyways. My skin underwent a huge change after moving into our condo and never fully recovered by the time the dry air set in to wreak extra havoc.
A visit to the Dermalogica pop-up at Bayview Village – which is so close to our home! – was the perfect way to address my new issues and get back on track for 2016. Along with stocking all of my favourite Dermalogica products and offering the brand’s skin-mapping analysis (highly recommended!), you can also settle into one of the comfortable chairs for a MicroZone treatment.
My 20-minute MicroZone Treatment ($30) was like a targeted, super-effective and super-soothing facial coupled with a skincare lesson. During the treatment, my skin was buffed with Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant amped up with extra professional exfoliator and then soothed with a vitamin-rich masque. To help the masque soak in, my therapist used a special vibrating metal plate.
I left with some new product recommendations and the glowiest skin. Seriously. Look at it. No filter required!
At my therapist’s recommendation, my usual skincare routine – a micellar water, the ultracalming cleanser + daily microfoliant – was supplemented with the skin hydrating booster and this amazing moisturizer that has transformed my skin. My skin feels hydrated to the touch and the texture has never been better thanks to the skin smoothing cream, which is a crazy thing in our bone-dry condo. I also picked up the multivitamin power recovery masque for a weekly treat. My therapist told me it’s cheekily referred to as a hangover mask – its effect on your skin is that amazing!
Pop on over to Dermalogica’s Bayview Village pop-up until January 31! Who knows…you might just see me there. Again.[disclaim]I was provided with a complimentary MicroZone treatment for the purposes of this review. As always, I’m sharing because I loved it and think you will, too! And yes – I paid for the product myself (with a media discount). Worth it![/disclaim]
