I’m a recovered/ing addict. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been biting, chewing and nipping at my nails in a very unladylike fashion. Even now that I’m not gnawing at my nails all day long, I still find myself nipping away at dry skin and hangnails. Gross, I know. Not only does the act itself look disgusting, my nails did, too. You’ve probably noticed my hangnails in nail art snaps like this one:
Youch. Not cute at all. Enter my new hero, Dior Crème Abricot Fortifying Cream For Nails. Last weekend, I took a trip to Shoppers Drug Mart for their spend your points event with fellow blogger and beauty lover Stella Lee. She needed another $20-30 item and settled on Dior Crème de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm, a legendary lip soother. The little white jar with the embossed CD logo right next to it began calling to me and I slathered some of the peach contents on my ragged cuticles. Although initially shrugging it off because it was too sticky, I found myself obsessing over how perfect my cuticles looked. After a week of justifying the purchase ($30+ for cuticle cream?!), I gave in and haven’t looked back.
After applying 2-3 times daily since Friday, my nails look like I just got a (very good) manicure. The general application is once per day, before bed for best results (no hand-washing to worry about!) but I’m just so excited about the product that I can’t help but apply more often – you know how it is. I’m comfortable enough in the state of my nails & cuticles that I’ve even forgone polish since Saturday morning. When I finally do paint them (probably tonight), it will be on a fortified, well-groomed canvas – ravaged-cuticles-free! Yes, this was also an excuse to show off the beautiful vintage sapphire + diamond ring my boyfriend bought me out at Aberfoyle Antique Market this weekend. I also bought a ton of Crown jars + a silver vanity hand mirror, in case you’re curious.
For the price of a manicure (or two) you can get perfect cuticles with Dior Crème Abricot Fortifying Cream For Nails. Pick it up anywhere Dior products are sold (Shoppers Drug Mart, Murale, Holt Renfrew, The Bay, etc) and apply it once per day (just a tiny dab per nail). Your cuticles will thank you.
