It’s finally time to bust out those freshly polished toes – it’s hot, it’s muggy, it feels like summer. I’ve been in a bit of a nail polish rut recently but it’s not entirely a bad thing – basically, I’ve been wearing Essie Summer 2014 collection exclusively. It’s rare that there’s a full collection that I can’t wait to wear, but this one is definitely it. A mix of bold hues and gorgeous neutrals, it’s hard not to want every single shade. I lack restraint, so after a few weeks of wearing only Urban Jungle I decided to wear them all at once.
Essie’s Summer 2014 collection contains 6 shades that apply beautifully and are opaque in 2 coats. Each of the shades has a creamy finish and high-gloss shine. I’ve had great wear with this collection as well, with my manicures lasting upwards of four days on average. That’s great for a “heavy typer” like me!

The standout shades in this collection for me were Urban Jungle and Haute in the Heat. Urban Jungle has become my go-to polish – it’s a blush-y neutral that looks as great with my fair skin as it does when I’ve got a bit of colour. I’m going to be buying a few bottles to keep on hand at all times – I am seriously obsessed.
If you’re looking for a bright, Haute in the Heat is it. Haute in the Heat is the ultimate punchy pink that your toes crave when the temperature rises. Nothing boosts my mood quite like a fresh pink pedi!
All of the other shades are gorgeous as well so it really came down to wearability for me – I’m a pink & neutral girl at heart.
Girls who love to rock the blues & greens will love the brightness of Ruffles & Feathers and Strut Your Stuff while anyone looking for a trendy shade should reach for Roarrrrange – it’s the ultimate orange! Fierce, No Fear is a great transitional shade that is surprisingly easy to wear – the mocha is mega-flattering and is a unique choice for a season that’s generally saturated with brights.
