Game-Changers

That feeling when you’ve been looking for something forever and it finally appears. That’s how I feel about all six of these game-changers featured today. Each fills a gap in my beauty or fashion game that I’ve been trying to fill for what feels like years. The perfect faux leather leggings, a cozy-not-bulky classic sweater, a strand-transforming hair mask… keep reading and then add to cart.

The Best Faux Leather Leggings

You need these faux leather leggings in your wardrobe. High-waisted, made of textured faux leather and featuring a tummy-smoothing panel, they’re as flattering as they are versatile. These are the best faux leather leggings I’ve found. The thin material is lined on the inside but won’t make you sweaty – a huge plus. Available in regular and 7/8 length. Commando Perfect Control Faux Leather Leggings, $98

Banish Maskne

Dealing with maskne or just annoying adult-onset zits? This recommendation from my friend Kat has changed my skin for the better – as an allover mask, it leaves your skin glowing, smooth and soft. Umbrian Clay helps to purify breakouts, meaning it’s great as a spot treatment overnight for especially stubborn blemishes. Fresh Umbrian Clay Pore Purifying Face Mask, $77

Smooth Your Strands

If you deal with frizzy, unruly hair (like me) or just want to treat yourself to a bit of extra smoothing, you need this hair mask. My hair has never felt better – it’s soft, smooth and blow-dries like a dream. Thank you to beauty goddess Samantha Jane for this stunning recommendation – I can never be without it now. Amika Soulfood Nourishing Mask, $37

Gotta-Try-It Mascara

Do you need to try another mascara? Maybe. If your lashes can’t hold a curl or often feel weighed down by traditional formulas, L’Oreal’s latest Air Volume Mega Mascara could be your secret weapon. The air-whipped formula is light on lashes and gives a fanned-out finish thanks to the bristle brush (my fave). I prefer a thicker lash look, but I’ve been leaning on this one because it is smudge-resistant and flake-resistant. I even had a nap while wearing it over the weekend and woke up picture-perfect. L’Oreal Air Volume Mega Mascara, $16.99 (on sale for $12.99)

A Chic & Cozy Sweater

Cozy without being overwhelmingly bulky, this textured sweater with ribbed and cabling detail is a must for your winter wardrobe. I have it in marshmallow beige, but am eyeing it in the other colours, too. Slightly longer in the back than front, it pairs well with leggings or skinny jeans. Gap Textured Crewneck Sweater, $69.95

De-Puff & Sculpt

I can’t be the only one who subsisted on popcorn and wine last week, right? If you’re feeling puffy post-election – or if you generally want to sculpt and de-puff your face – an ice-roller is your secret weapon. This chilled roller has been a mainstay in my freezer for almost a year thanks to how amazing it feels on a tired face and how fresh I look after using it. Perfect for new moms or migraine sufferers, too! Ice Roller, $15.97
