Delicious: Honey-Truffle-Parm Shoestring Superfries

Hello from the other side of the campaign trail! It’s been a long road but I can finally think of something other than poll numbers, canvasses and press releases (OK, maybe not yet. It might take awhile to recover). One of the things I’ve missed most during the campaign has been sitting down for a home-cooked meal. I’ve had more fast meals and veal sandwiches from the bakery in our plaza than I’d care to admit.

I had some time at home over the weekend and *finally* got to whip up a batch of the McCain Shoestring Superfries I had waiting in my freezer. One of my favourite restaurants in Woodbridge, Oca Nera, does these amazing truffled parmesan fries topped with a bit of honey, so I’m sharing my version of those with you today!

Best part: you can make this crispy-crunch-salty-sweet snack/meal/side dish in under 10 minutes with ingredients you probably have at home.

HOW TO

  1. Bake a bag of McCain Shoestring Superfries
  2. Toss with truffle oil and parmesan cheese. Add some truffle salt if you have it on-hand and are feeling fancy!
  3. Drizzle with honey and top with a sprinkle of rosemary.
  4. Eat! And keep away from your kitty, if yours is as perpetually starving for human food as ours is.

That’s it! Easy-peasy. I love a good #Modifry, don’t you? My obsession with fries rivals only my obsession with sour-sweet gummies and I love how dressing them up makes them feel so much more luxurious and complete.
