Although I engage in gratuitous use of exclamation points, there are few things that actually make me jump for joy.
When Kate Spade opened in Toronto, there was some serious jumping that went down.
Although I went to check out the store at Yorkdale the day it opened (and, you know, picked up a couple of small things), I was more than a little excited to attend the store’s launch party hosted by With Love Gabrielle last week. I’m a huge fan of the brand, in case you couldn’t already tell, and I used to scour the website before vacations to the US to create my must-have list. Suffice to say, the opening of the brand’s Yorkdale store ranked right up there with when I got to meet Kate Spade’s celebrity stylist, Brad Goreski, last year.
I dressed for the occasion in a basketweave short sleeve Ganni dress from Anthropologie, a be-bowed and be-dazzled cardigan from Kate Spade (stolen from Mom’s closet), Ferragamo bow pumps and a classic Chanel bag.
With visions of self control dancing in my head, I missioned out to Yorkdale and became even more obsessed with the new addition when I parked in the new-age parking lot. Green and red lights tell you exactly which rows have parking stalls available – genius! My self-control didn’t last long once my date, Maria Aguilar from Beauty and a Bite, and I entered the store. Pretty much the minute we walked in, I spotted this gorgeous Parker Place Tamera bag in mint green.
Utter joy, friends. Utter joy. Also, this photo is too much – it’s like Maria carries a wind machine in her purse (not that I’m complaining). I went home with the first bag that caught my eye that night. Oops. I blame the insistence of my shopping buddies, Maria (Beauty and a Bite), Elaine (Toronto Beauty Reviews) + Stephanie (Blush Pretty), but let’s be honest….I’m pretty easily enabled when it comes to Kate Spade.
Everything in the store was absolutely beautiful, as is expected from a brand with the motto Live Colourfully. From bangles to baubles to bags, the Kate Spade store at Yorkdale screams beautiful. I dare you not to buy something. Along with taking advantage of the 20% off, we also noshed on petite and adorable goodies – macarons are paleo, right? – and mingled with other blogger friends like Nicole from Dainty Girl and Anum from Summer x Skin.
If you haven’t checked out Kate Spade at Yorkdale, make it a point to go as soon as you can. The brand’s trademark girly, polished and chic pieces can’t be missed. Whether you’re looking for a retro-chic dress, a ladylike bag or even just some cute accessories (they have adorable iPhone cases + USB keys!), head over for your dose of colour.

Thanks again to Marta from With Love Gabrielle for hosting! xo
UPDATE: There is now a second Toronto Kate Spade location in Yorkville! It’s even bigger than the Yorkdale store (2 levels) and chock-full of beautiful goodies.
