Lise Watier Fall 2014: Feline [+ giveaway]

There’s a feature in Glamour each month that I absolutely love called Hey, It’s OK… that helps you to justify seemingly indulgent behaviours. Which is basically what this entire blog is about, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Well, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery so here’s one for you right now: Hey, It’s OK…to covet product purely based on packaging and be pleasantly surprised when the product inside is just as awesome.

Leopard is a Neutral - Stephanie Fusco - Toronto Lifestyle Style Beauty Blog

I was idly scrolling Instagram, as I often do, when this gorgeous compact from Lise Watier stopped me in my tracks. Leopard, you say? I shouldn’t have to spell out what happened next, but in case you’re curious…there was laying in wait for the press release to emerge and then following up frantically with the PR team to ensure I’d get one of my very own to share with you. Barring that, I would have camped out at a Shoppers Drug Mart location to ensure I’d get my paws on one. Yeah, I’m like that. Lise Watier Quaturor Feline Eyeshadow Quartet ($36)  is just plain lovely.

Lo and behold, the insides are just as lovely as the outsides: this leopard compact houses a quartet of four (leopard embossed!!!) wearable shades in cream, rose gold, silky taupe and a coppery brown. The creamy champagne shade is a bit glittery for my tastes and I did get some fallout from it, but the combination of the four cream-to-powder shadows is perfection.

That extra line you see there at the end? Lise Watier Feline Eyeliner HD liquid liner ($20) now comes in brown! It swatches a bit on the rusty side on my basement-dweller skin, but it looks quite lovely on the eyes and is a great alternative to my usual black cat eye.

Leopard Lise Watier Fall 2014 look Stephanie Fusco - Leopard is a NeutralThe look: apply the cream shadow from inner corners to outer, across the entire lid. Apply the taupe shade from the midpoint of the lid to the outer corner, contouring into the crease. Pat the rose gold shadow in the centre of the lid. Contour in a V-shape on the outer corner and in the crease with the brown shadow. Line with Feline

Lest you think the fall collection from Lise Watier is just about leopard, let me clear the air – the brand has also launched some equally lovely additional products, like the 24 Hrs Glam Eyeshadow ($22) and the Double Definition Automatic Brow Liner ($20).

Lise Watier Double Definition Automatic Brow Liner Review

Fall’s full brows frame will frame your face in a big way and this automatic brow liner will help get you there. The oval tip will define and fill in your brow while the other end will help you brush & blend. Available in 3 shades, you’re sure to find one that matches yours.

These waterproof shadows go on smoothly and don’t budge for hours. The black shade shown here – Disco Glam – is so perfect for fall thanks to its deep pigments and flecks of purple that add an extra dose of awesome. I can’t wait to get a moody fall eye with these. You can even use these shadows as a base – they stay on that well. Just make sure to work quickly – they dry on the lid shortly after application.
