#ManicureMonday: Deborah Lippmann’s Girls Just Want To Have Fun

Alright, my bad, it’s Hump Day instead of Monday. To help you get over the hump, check out this week’s manicure: Deborah Lippmann’s Girls Just Want to Have Fun!

On Monday, I treated myself to an afternoon of girly fun – a manicure at Donato Salon + Spa and some shopping at Anthropologie at Shops at Don Mills (one of my favourite haunts). So, of course, when faced with four rows of Deborah Lippmann polish at Donato, I chose the one that most fit my mood – a trendy, summery coral with a fun name.

My expert manicurist, Maria, applied the polish perfectly, achieving opacity in two coats. The hue is neither too orange nor too pink – it’s perfectly in the middle and is trendy without being loud. Like all Deborah Lippman polishes, this one is 3-free and retails around $23.

In unprecedented fashion, I used the same colour on my hands and feet. Cute, huh?

The problem with Shops at Don Mills is that I absolutely cannot resist the allure of Murale, a Sephora-esque offshoot of Shoppers Drug Mart. Yes, you can get Optimum points for buying high-end beauty products. Better yet, they have a Fab + Free promotion going on until June 10 that gets you an awesome gift with purchase when you spend over $100!

The full list of products can be found here, but I was most excited about the purse-size Oscar Blandi Pronto dry shampoo, full-size Deborah Lippmann polish, mini Bourjois polish, and the three trial-size mascaras (two from Cargo, one from Smashbox). Oh, did I mention they come in an adorable large purple makeup tote with a polka dot lining? So fun!

What’s on your nails this week? Will you be heading to Murale for this fabulous bonus?

  • After visiting Murale last night, I have to say: they need more locations across Canada, especially in the GTA! Awesome beauty brands all in one place AND great service to boot. I really do like that you can take advantage of the Shoppers Optimum program at Murale – definitely an incentive to visit again.

I couldn’t agree more, Stella! I’ll always love Sephora, but their loyalty program just isn’t doing it for me. The fact that I have to spend so much there per year for the benefit of getting a ‘deluxe’ sample for each $100 I spend seems a little ridiculous. Even the 500-point bonuses are hit-or-miss.

Murale definitely has it right – I can’t wait to blow my Optimum points on beauty goodies!

PS. the Lippmann polishes are a huge bonus 😉

  • So stoked to learn about Murale! I’m a Shoppers fangirl and an Optimum points hoarder! They have one location in Vancouver and I’m heading there after work. I’m going to try out the Caudalie Beauty Elixir and pick up a clear hydrating mask for my plane ride tomorrow. Any suggestions for a mask?

P.S. Are those the Valentino flip flops? I adore! Aldo has a similar version right now that will quell my craving…

Yes! So glad. You’ll have to let me know how your visit went.
I suck for not responding sooner, but I’ve heard the NARS moisture mask is a-mazing.

And yes – they’re Valentino! I love them so much – if Aldo has some nice dupes I’m definitely going to grab another pair 🙂

  • Fun fun fun! I wish I had known about the promotion going on at Murale. I was at Donato Friday too! Gettin’ my hair done 🙂

What kind of goodies did you get at Murale?
