This week’s featured polish is extra-special: it’s limited edition and it was created to celebrate the 175th birthday of one of my favourite Canadian stores. Holt Renfrew celebrated 175 years of fashion by partnering with brands to create items in the store’s iconic shade of magenta. Since this particular shade of magenta is one of my signature colours, I’m all over the limited edition items (more on that soon, but let’s say I had to tear myself away from $600 Manolos. But I digress…).
Raise Your Glass ($22 CDN, exclusively at Holt Renfrew) is a magenta creme with magenta sparkles. You heard me right – pink on pink…and it’s fabulous.
The finish without a topcoat is somewhat matte, which is cool. Here I’ve topped it with Deborah Lippman’s Addicted To Speed topcoat for an ultra-shiny finish. I layered on two coats out of habit, but probably could have done with one. The formula is easy to apply and the sparkles are evenly dispersed, leaving you with showstopping magenta nails with a certain je ne sais quoi thanks to the glitter.
This is one polish I know I’ll be wearing again and again – who can resist the perfect hot pink?
