You know that feeling you have when you walk into a store and think, “yeah, I pretty much want to buy everything here”. That. I had it twice last week – first at the Kate Spade launch at Yorkdale and then again when I walked through the doors at Minling Pan Studio. Every single item in the store spoke to me – especially the gorgeous handbags from Minling Pan’s new MIN line and the accessories scattered throughout the boutique.
Clutches and bags from Minling Pan’s new handbag line, MIN
Faced with so many glittery, gorgeous items, it’s a miracle I only walked out with three pieces. I’m going to let the items speak for themselves here with a slew of photos. Minling must have been secretly using me as a muse when she designed the pieces in her store, since they pretty much all include aspects of my favourite things.
Take, for instance, the multitude of shiny things happening in this photo:
Yes, that’s a ring-clutch. Talk about pulling double duty! I had my eye on the deliriously shiny box clutch on the right – I’ll be back for it when the MIN handbag line launches in Spring 2013!
Minling also boasts plenty of Hermes-esque scarves (check out those classy patterns!) in the softest silk.
Her basics-with-a-twist are the perfect addition to any wardrobe. Check out this adorably Chanel-inspired tweed jacket:
Or this gorgeous red blazer with pink turn-up cuffs paired with a classic white button-down shirt and a punchy, trendy collar in my favourite “neutral” – leopard!
I won’t blame you if you want to head over to Minling’s Yonge/Eglinton boutique right this second. One of the things that sets Minling Pan Studio apart from other boutiques in the area (aside from her beautiful pieces) is that Minling has quite the knack for colour consultations. If you’ve ever considered “getting your colours done” – do it. Make sure you go to Minling for it, though. She confirmed what I already knew – cool colours (hot pink, purple, bright blue) and wine shades for this gal! – and told me to stay away from neutrals, yellows and greens where possible. If you’re not sure what looks good on you, this is a great way to build a flattering wardrobe. I was shocked by the difference in how my face looked when she held up “my” colours compared to those I should avoid. Too cool! (See what I did there?)
Along with perusing the ridiculously gorgeous pieces, I got to hang out with some lovely Toronto bloggers. The rockstar attendee list included Elaine (Toronto Beauty Reviews), Jamie-Leigh (Jamie-Leigh TO), Tiffany (She’s So Savvy), Anum (Summer x Skin), Nicole (Dainty Girl) and Carly-Anne (Carly-Anne dotcom).
The event was hosted by Valerie Stachurski of Charming Media and she had her intern, up-and-coming PR pro Chelsea Cardoso. Chelsea and I were instant besties – that’s what happens when you have #HumberPR in common!
An event after my own heart – check out Elaine & me in this pink photobooth!
Thanks to our lovely host, Val of Charming Media!
