#ManicureMonday: OPI x Rethink Pink of Hearts Duo

Happy #ManicureMonday! As you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in Canadian women and it’s estimated that 22,700 women in Canada will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 5,100 women will die from the disease in 2012 (source). With this in mind, Rethink Breast Cancer has collaborated with top beauty, fashion & lifestyle brands to design products where proceeds benefit breast cancer education, support and research programs.

One of the first products from the Rethink Pink line that caught my eye was the OPI Pink of Hearts duo.

I Think In Pink is a creme bubblegum pink shade that goes on opaque in 2-3 coats.  You Glitter Be Good To Me is a clear base with metallic salmon glitter and hot pink hex glitter suspended within. You can either wear it alone (bank on using 3 coats or so for full coverage) or over another polish.

This manicure was done with two coats of I Think In Pink and two coats of You Glitter Be Good To Me on the accent nail.

I’m a huge fan of both formulas – for such a light shade, I Think In Pink is supremely buildable and goes on shiny. You Glitter Be Good To Me‘s clear base makes it the perfect companion to so many polishes. As you can see above, it looks great as a companion to I Think In Pink, but it would also look great over black polish. I’m currently wearing it over Deborah Lippman x Zac Posen Purple Rain and it looks amazing. Bonus: layering glitter over regular polish all but guarantees your polish will last a really long time.

OPI Pink Of Hearts due retails for $20.99 and can be found anywhere OPI polishes are sold. Proceeds from the sale of the set will go to Rethink Breast Cancer
