At any given time, I’m never more than 15km from a Pink Tartan location. This is both an amazing and a dangerous thing (OK, mostly amazing). Boasting seasonless pieces that go from work to play with ease, Pink Tartan is my favourite way to wear Canadian. Kimberley Newport Mimran’s designs are always wearable, perfectly tailored, classic and chic, making them the perfect investment piece. I’ve found myself buying a few pieces each season, which has grown my wardrobe in a way that means I’m never without something chic to wear.
Starting today, you can pick up your own Pink Tartan pieces without ever setting foot outside. Just visit www.pinktartan.com and get your credit card ready!
The Pink Tartan online shop couldn’t have launched at a better time – I’m currently hanging out in an airport lounge on a 2-hour flight delay. Luckily for you, this means I’ve picked some must-have pieces to ease you into your forthcoming Pink Tartan addiction.
Pink Tartan’s fit & flare shapes are a must-have in my wardrobe – they’re ladylike and will make your waist look teeny. Pair with pumps or flats, a clutch (or your favourite quilted black bag) and a cardigan or blazer for a quick but pulled-together look. Add a belt for extra waist-whittling magic.
Another fit & flare shape, this short-sleeved dress will become a staple in your closet. Pink Tartan’s 4-way stretch and rib-knit texture combined with a banded waist and flared skirt make this a figure-flattering must-have. I’ve already picked up a similar dress in a sleeveless purple style and coerced friends into the sleeveless black version, so I can’t wait to add this to my collection. It’s so versatile the slightly high pricetag will barely sting – you’ll have it forever!
Pink Tartan’s impeccable tailoring shines especially in their shirts. For busty girls who have trouble finding button-downs that, well, button, these shirts are a saviour. My favourite version is one with a tiny peplum, but this classic straight shape just might find its way into my closet this season. The powder blue shade will look just as good tucked into a pencil shirt as it would over a pair of dark skinnies.
I bought this pleated skirt with an exposed zipper late last year for the Hermes Swinging Silk party. While my version has a hint of tulle peeking out at the bottom, this clean, classic black taffeta skirt is a little more versatile. Pair it with just about any shirt you own – it’s that easy.
Pink Tartan Kimberley Clutch ($195)
I’m lusting over this clutch (hot pink, please!) in a big way. Made of supple pebble leather and finished with a brushed silver clover turn lock, this small classic piece will look great with just about anything. Available in black, hot pink, kelly green and orange, you might find yourself wanting them all. Like its namesake, the Kimberley clutch is classic, bold and beautiful.
Congratulations to the team at Pink Tartan on the launch of your online boutique! I know I’ll spend many hours lusting over pieces before I inevitably find myself at the Yorkville flagship or Bayview Village shop.
