The Enabler Report: February Favourites

February’s frigidness was tempered by 7 lovely new discoveries. It’s been a serious skincare-and-hydration month, balanced out only by my newfound obsession with two new lip products – one of which is sure to blow your mind. If you’re ready to get shopping, keep reading for this month’s Enabler Report.

Stephanie Fusco February Favourites 2017

S’Well Waikiki Water Bottle

It’s not the first time I’ve sung the praises of these stainless steel water bottles, but this time it’s purely hedonistic. It’s just so pretty! I love the on-trend white and greenery motif and couldn’t help but purchase it on sight. If you’re looking to up your water intake in a chic way, this bottle will keep your beverage hot for 12 hours or cold for 24. Plus, it looks adorable on your desk or bedside table.

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream

If perfecting your skin is on your to-do list for spring, look no further than this oft-recommended CC cream. This all-in-one miracle product has an SPF of 50 and the benefits of serum, moisturizer and primer along with its medium-to-high coverage. I love any product that you can multitask with, especially when combining dewy, near-full coverage with ingredients like peptides, niaacin, hyaluronic acid and vitamins A, C, B and E. A single pump will cover your whole face and give you serious staying power – I wore it all night at a wedding! It comes in 5 shades and you can purchase it online via Beautylish or in the States at retailers like Ulta (like I did).  Be careful when selecting your shade, though – the selection is a little wonky. I’m ‘light’.

Becca First Light Filter Face Primer

For skin that’s looking a little lacklustre, Becca’s latest primer offering is the key to a brightening glow. Billed as a skin-awakening primer, this violet-tinted primer diffuses and brightens, leaving behind a lit-from-within glow. I use 2-3 pumps in the morning to amp up my winter-tired skin and, depending on the day, might apply a full face or just some concealer.

Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Corrector

If you suffer from dark circles like I do, consider adding this lightweight serum corrector to your routine. The peachy-hued serum on a doe-foot applicator sinks into the skin to hydrate and colour-correct dark circles. I find it plays nicely with my Holy Grail concealer, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, giving me a nice, bright look. On less tired days, I can get away with applying it on its own. Make sure to pat it into your under eye area once you swipe it on – it’ll help the product sink in and blend with your skin.

Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic

Have you heard that Pixi Beauty is back in Canada?! Shoppers Drug Mart is now carrying the full range, including this alcohol-free cult classic toner. The toner’s blend of 5% glycolic acid plus soothing aloe vera, glycerin and botanical extracts will gently exfoliate your skin, leaving behind improved texture and a natural glow. I use it at night before serums and noticed a difference almost immediately – it’s that good. If you’ve been curious about acid exfoliation, this is a good place to start. Your skin will thank you!

Pixi Beauty Mattelustre Lipstick

Still on that Pixi Beauty train, I’ve been loving the Mattelustre Lipstick, particularly the shade Rose Naturelle. Aside from the perfect-for-me sahde, I love this easy-wearing lipstick because it’s comfortable and sinks nicely into the lips for a natural finish that can be built up into opaque coverage. It’s a demi-matte, meaning it has a natural finish and is perfect for everyday. While it might not be as long-wearing as a matte, I don’t mind re-applying this smooth bullet enhanced with  peptides, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins C & E. If you’re looking for a new everyday lipstick – or one to keep in your desk for emergencies – this just might be it.

Bite Beauty – The Lip Pencil

And now…the grande finale. I’ve been so excited for this release, so much so that I ran out to buy it in the first week. My first beauty collectible of 2017 might just be The Lip Pencil from Bite Beauty. Available in 22 buttery, soft and comfortable neutral, lip-tone inspired shades, this pencil can be worn alone or layered with your favourite lipstick. The hardest part is picking which ones to purchase. I picked up 014 – Dusty Mauve and 034 – Plum Rose, both twists on my-lips-but-better.

You’ll have to sharpen these yourself – probably once every few wears – but it’s worth it for the precise line, comfortable formula and nourishing shea butter. These have serious lasting power but never feel dry. Perfect whether you’re a seasoned makeup pro or someone who’s just getting started, these liners make it easy to define your lips and are a slim addition to any makeup bag. Although I picked the two shades I thought were best for me, wearing them over the past few weeks has convinced me that I probably need the rest – they’re just that lovely. Buy one, then buy them all. They’re perfect.

That’s all for February! Let me know which of my favourites you’ll be picking up in the comments – and what you think I should try in March! xo
