I’ll cut to the chase: since it’s been awhile, this is going to be an extra-long Enabler Report. So put on your cozy socks, grab a cup of coffee and settle in. Here’s what is setting my heart a-flutter these days.
At the WedLuxe Wedding Show back in January, the ladies from RADFORD used Living Proof hair product on me and I was so incredibly impressed with how it held up. So I did what any normal beauty-loving gal would do and picked up 3 of the products at Sephora immediately.
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo
is my new holy grail: it brushes out beautifully, volumizes and has a time-release fragrance that isn’t irritating in the slightest. Seriously – it smells like lemons. It makes your 3-day hair look freshly-washed and, best of all, won’t get chunky the next day.
Living Proof Restore Instant Repair Lotion
makes my dry, damaged hair look like it’s growing on Kate Middleton’s head. You heard it here first: this is the happy shiny pony hair miracle lotion. My hair has never looked bouncier and I credit this for making my style last SO long. Seriously – I can wake up on day 2 or 3 of a style and give it a gentle brush out: no heat required.
Living Proof Restore Instant Protection Spray
protects my hair from near-daily heat styling – and it protects up to 450 degrees. It also shields from UV rays, blocks humidity, smooths, shines and works on dry or damp hair. Basically, it’s a miracle spray.
I know this seems like a lot already, but my girlfriend Claire swears by the Prime Style Extender so I may give that a try next. I’m a brand convert!
I’ve been on a bit of a beauty spree lately, if you can’t tell. I have a special feature coming out in a certain national paper next month and to prep for it I grabbed some new product again from Sephora. And then found a few more things…you know how it goes.
Invisibobble
is as functional as it is cute. This hair elastic won’t snag, crease or tug. I use it to secure my hair into a bun at bedtime and to tie it in a high, swingy pony for the gym. It comes in a million colours – this one is Pinking of You – and packages of three. The bright shades and unique shape make them harder to misplace than my usual ouchless elastics.
Urban Decay Naked3
is my first naked palette. I know: I’ll just hang in my beauty blogger card on my way out. That said, it’s better late than never! I chose this palette because I don’t have anything like it in my collection. I’ve been using it every single day since I purchased it and it creates the most stunningly simple looks. When I want something more intense, I supplement one of my many dark shadows from other kits. For formula, uniqueness and overall pretty, this palette is a winner in my books.
NudeStix Intense Matte Lip & Cheek Tint
in Belle is the answer to your nude 90’s lip colour dreams. I wasn’t so sure about this one when it was sent to me as a press sample – I gravitated toward the bright red Royal – but I feel like Posh Spice whenever I wear it. It looks beautiful in a single swipe on the lips and blends out in a really lovely way on your cheeks. Gotta love that monochrome! #longlivethe90s.
MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot
in Painterly is the first eye primer that I’ve been viscerally attached to. It neutralizes my reddish eyelids in the best way, so much so that I often wear it alone. Even better, it makes my eye products stick and last all day long. It works its magic especially on my liquid liner – so much so that it’s nearly impossible to fix a too-thick wing.
NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint
has been on my wishlist since I heard it was coming back in December. It did not disappoint in the slightest! It gives my skin the most beautiful coverage and texture, the perfect velvety matte without being drying or dimensionless. I’ve been wearing it every day even though my skin doesn’t really need the coverage – it’s that gorgeous. It’s comfortable, feels hydrating and lasts all day without powder. Swatch above! My shade is Finland.
Last but not least…these jeans. You can see them in my most recent outfit post, but the coles notes of this is:
Banana Republic Heritage Painted Boyfriend Jeans
are my spring 2016 essential. A relaxed fit, each pair is uniquely painted with reddish/pink and white paint. I love how they’re a bit of a rebellious and fun twist on a boyfriend jean. I’ll be wearing them all spring long and I feel like you’ll want to do the same.
Which of these items is on your list?
