Do you ever feel like you have nothing to wear when the seasons change? I swear my closets are full, but I feel like I’m rewearing the same stuff constantly. I haven’t done a big mall day for months, but Lauren and I decided to give Yorkdale a whirl on Saturday for some much-needed retail therapy. I had some great finds at Ann Taylor and LUSH and also started a little bedroom refresh at Hudson’s Bay. Check out what I have in store for this week’s Enabler Report – you might just see a few of those finds below!
bluebellgray rain sateen sheet set
has been on my radar for a few months, so when I spotted it at 40% off it was a must-buy. The gorgeous watercolour rain pattern in duck egg blue is one thing, but these are incredibly soft and smooth – perfect for the hotter temps. I love that the cotton is machine-washable and still feels luxurious. I balanced the slightly-girly pattern with a second set of pillows covered in a solid white and our grey linen duvet cover. Mike and Charlie both seem to be settling into them nicely. I’ve already got my eye on the true-blue set!
Lush Pink Flamingo Reusable Bath Bar
was too gorgeous to pass up at LUSH. I ended up running back from the register to pick it up and we promptly staged a photo shoot against some ferns once we left the shop. When you hold it under the water in your bath, it’ll froth up and turns the water this gorgeous pink. Like all LUSH products, it smells absolutely incredible. I especially love that it’s reusable – this photo was taken after I’d already given it a try! It’s definitely a good bang-for-buck product since you can get a few baths out of it.
Kerastase Nutritive Masquintense
has become a necessary part of my haircare routine over the past few weeks. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m slowly giving tortoiseshell hair a try which means I’m subjecting my thick, coarse, dark hair to lots of bleaching action. This substantial moisturizing mask from Kerastase makes my hair feel like silk and makes it so much more manageable – even when I air dry!
Thirsty Buddha Coconut Water with Aloe Vera
landed on my doorstep a few weeks ago and, as a coconut water virgin, I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about it. I gave it a try the morning after a salty southern barbecue dinner to really put the hydration and cleansing properties of the coconut water and aloe to the test. It definitely quenched my thirst and I loved the little bits of aloe – they distracted from the coconut water taste which, truth be told, I’m not a big fan of. The slightly sweet drink will be on my to-purchase list from now on – and definitely in the aloe vera variety – to help give me a bit of an energy boost and a dose of extra hydration when I need it most.
Illume Go Be Lovely Lavish Hand Creme
in Anemone has been my go-to for the last little while. The scent is absolutely to-die-for: citrusy, floral, a bit musky and sexy. It’s become a bit of a cult favourite at work where I keep it on my desk and indulge in mini-hand massages during the day to help my (still) winter-ravaged skin. The one thing that threw me off – and has caused a few big messes – is the texture. The mix of jojoba, avocado and coconut oils along with Vitamin E is blissfuly moisturizing, but it’s also incredibly liquid-y. I promise it’s worth the learning curve!
That’s all for this week!
Disclosure: the Thirsty Buddha coconut water + Kerastase hair masque were provided for editorial consideration & review. As always, I’m sharing them because I love them and think you will too!
