My second day participating in Redken’s VIP Blogger program was double the fun. Since I had two tickets to Target’s runway show, Redken was lovely enough to invite my favourite +1, Stella, backstage as well. The only thing more fun than the backstage experience is doing it with a friend![col1]
Adding a little extra Fashion Waves 07 to my next-day hair, Alex fashioned my locks into a braided headband and soft waves. I loved my boho look and yes, I slept in it so I could enjoy the braid the next day at work. I can’t wait to try to duplicate it at home. Stella’s hair was spiraled into the most voluminous, gorgeous curls. We both loved her super-glam ‘do. But seriously, guys. Redken Fashion Waves 07 spray is a game-changer.[line]

The Target runway show featured two looks created by Grace Lee, lead MUA at Maybelline New York Canada and Redken Lead Stylist Jorge Joao. What I loved most about the Target show was how wearable everything was. The hair and makeup are both simple to emulate and, paired with the beautiful and affordable pieces from Target’s runway show, are an affordable way to get a runway look. The first look for “day” featured glittery lids, fresh skin, nude lips and slightly messy, natural hair.
The evening look featured slick, side-parted hair paired with the same luminous skin. The addition of poppy red lips and a wash of bronze across the lids makes this both easy to replicate and perfect for a holiday party.
After watching Grace work her magic backstage, I’m so excited to give Maybelline’s newest mascara – Lash Sensational – a try! I also love how she used Clear Baby Lips as a highlight both on the lids and cheeks. Anything that adds a second use to a product I already love is a huge plus in my books. The Target show was, in a word, fun! The show began with European-inspired looks for fall and holiday and continued with wintry classic Canadian winter styles. We also got a sneak peek of Target’s latest collaboration, TOMS for Target. Keep an eye out for the collection in stores starting November 16!
Models walked down the runway in everything from leather sweatpants and buffalo plaid to quilted jackets and an array of wintry accessories. Also on tap? Upcoming home decor items framed the runway, including the perfect gold bar cart above.
Thanks again to the teams at Redken, Maybelline and Target for a fantastic night!
