A little beauty pick-me-up is one of my favourite ways to set the tone for the day. Dedicating 5 minutes to curling my lashes, concealing my under-eyes and patting on a lip & cheek stick makes all the difference in my mood – especially in pandemic times.
If you’re looking for a quick & easy beauty routine that you can do in the only 5 minutes you have for yourself, keep reading! It uses a (literal) handful of products.
If you’re tired of hearing you look so tired, take it from me: a shadow stick to “prime” your eyes, some concealer and, if you’re feeling ambitious, a tinted moisturizer will make all the difference. Pop on a multipurpose, dewy lip & cheek colour to really get your glow on and perk up your complexion.
- NUDESTIX Magnetic Eye Color, a waterproof shadow stick with 24-hour wear claims, can be blended out quickly with your fingertips. “Putty” works for my skin tone, but there are also metallic and satin finishes if you’re feeling adventurous!
- NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is my OG holy grail – light, creamy, hydrating and easily blendable. For a bit of extra coverage, reach for Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish Sublime Perfection Concealer – the formula is a bit thicker and goes the distance for heavy lifting. Tip: apply in a “V” under your eyes and allow the formula to set before tapping it in and blending it out with your fingers, a sponge or a concealer brush.
- Swipe Milk Lip & Cheek stick on lips & cheeks for a dose of sheer, dewy, buildable colour that feels fresh. The shade Werk is my go-to and, bonus, it smells amazing.
- Extra credit: if your skin really needs a boost, smooth on NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer for an easy application and radiant finish. I’m wearing it in these photos to help combat my spring migraine face.
Get Bright Eyed & Bushy-Tailed
To feel polished, adding in a bit of extra brow and curling my lashes (with a coat or two of mascara) always does the trick.
My go-to mascara these days is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara (see the before & after below). I love how it lengthens, thickens and darkens my lashes. It has major wear time and holds a curl incredibly well.
To fill in & enhance brows, try Velour Lashes Fluff ‘N Brow Pencil. This three-part brow product features a spoolie, tinted brow balm & teardrop-shaped brow pencil to help you achieve any look. I love that it provides so many options: if I’m in a real rush, I’ll just brush through my brows & apply the balm.
That’s it! It probably took you less time to read that than it would to apply all these products and feel just a little fresher, more put together and ready to tackle the day. At least, that’s how I feel when I incorporate these products into my routine.
